Hello,

Im trying to email a form from Adobe reader. I already did trough Adobe Profesional and was succesfull, but at Reader, when I hit the email button instead of sending it, shows a window that says "send PDF data as", you save the file but no email sending..

Thanks for your advice!!

Hi,

When you open a form in Reader certain functionality is restricted depending on whether the form was "Reader Enabled".

The following considerations relate to users with Reader.

(1) if the form is not enabled then the user will not be able to submit the form via a "Submit by Email" button. This is because the Reader cannot save the data that the user has entered into the form. Reader is suggesting that the responses be submitted as XML data which is permitted.

(2) if the form was Reader Enabled using Acrobat Standard v9 (or Acrobat Professional v8 or v7) then the user would be able to submit the form via email from Reader. Although there are licensing restrictions to no more than 500 data processes for that form.

(3) if the form is Reader Enabled using the full Adobe LiveCycle Reader Extensions server product then there are no restrictions.

If you have the correct version of Acrobat you could Reader Enable the form or you could set up a Submit XML button and then process the XML data on receipt.

Hope that helps,

Niall

How to create PDF from a secure URL (.aspx page), on the fly, using server certificate?

The scenario is:

-The intranet user has been authenticated via server certificate.
-The user has identified some complex information on the site.
-Now the user wants to create a PDF from the .aspx page on the fly.
-Utilizing SQL/server and .net platform.
-No Report Writer allowed.

Thanks in advance,
Shahram

I am having a problem signing in on Adobe Acrobat X. When I go to share a document it asks for sign in. I receive message that says "an error ocurred while signing in" If I go to sign up I get "Acrobat could not contact the server to complete the request"

I uninstalled the program and downloaded it again but still the same problem. I did not have this issue before I purchased Windows 7 Pro but that may just be a red herring.

I was sending and sharing just fine last week.

By signing in via the Share pane, I'm assuming you're referring to Acrobat.com. Are you able to sign in to Acrobat.com straight from your browser?

I have a similiar need and also need help making sure I can set a form up to do what I want. I will try to explain the process. This all needs to be done with the user using Reader (IT doesn't want to by a bunch of standard or pro licenses)

My agency has a form to fill out when people respond to emergencies. There is required information that needs to be filled in before sending. Besides click required field in the properties box, is there a away I can make them fill out the field before tabbing to the next field?

At the end of the form, the user is to place their digital signature on the form, then submit the form to their supervisor. I have a button that in the action File>Attach to email. On mine computer (with pro) works fine. Some people with reader has stated this function doesn't work. I think I have everything extended to reader so this works.Any help would be appreciated

It's possible to prevent the user exiting a field when it's not filled in using a script, but I would recommend against it. It can be very annoying for users and it's not really necessary if the field is set as required, as the user will not be able to submit it anyway if it's empty.

You don't need to use the "Attach to email" menu item. The file will automatically be attached when it's submitted in Reader.
