5.0 Distiller Orientation Problem

Acrobat 5 distiller used with a VB application does not create PDF in correct orientation. If I set the distiller preferences to portrait or landscape, I need to manually rotate 90 degrees to the right. If I set the preference to landscape rotated, I need to manually rotate by 90 degrees to the left. Is there some way to set the preference to rotate but not landscape?
