With the release of Reader 8 is the following now possible using JavaScript?
Coonect to an ODBC source to populate form fields, then upon completion of the form, export selected field values to a text file and save the filled form to a location on disk.

Yes, but it's been changed some. In Acrobat 6 ODBC was handled with the ADBC JavaScript Object. However ODBC access is considered a possible security issue so in Acrobat 8 it is disabled by default. To enable it you have to create a Registry entry. All the instructions are in this [url=http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/333472.php]tech note[/url] from Adobe.
