Activating ADBC

Answered

Hi all,

I've been investigating this for a while, and have got some resources about it and i've got to activate by creating a registry Key. Can anybody please tell me how to create this please as i am not very good on the PC side of things at the mo as i currently work on a Mac! I'm guessing this is as straight forward as the come but i have no idea. Below is the text i found from a javascript pdf that i found serving the web!

Note: To activate ADBC, create a registry key of type DWORD with the name “bJSEnable” and a value of “true” (1) in the following location:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\8.0\ADBC
This activates ADBC in Acrobat 8.0. In previous releases of Acrobat, ADBC was active

I found a great webpage on planet PDF about this called AcroTips and even gave me all the files needed to test this. Found it very easy to create an ODBC (well, i think i did!) but it still din't work and think the only thing what is stopping it from working it activating ADBC as I am working with Acrobat 9.

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 9.1.3, Windows

Version 8 inlcudes a special plugin for ADBC. This plugin might not be present with version 9 and there might not be a version of this for version 9.
