Hi
I don't see any sub forum for Acrobat add- ins.

I want to re-write my JavaScript application as an add- in.
Anyone have experience how to do that?

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 8.2.6, Windows

What do you mean by "add-in", exactly? You can add custom menu items and toolbar buttons with JavaScript. These can execute JavaScript code, but they're different than something like a custom plug-in. What does your application currently do?

We don't have a plugins forum here, but there's one for the SDK over at Adobe.comPlugins are written in C++, pretty much the same as any native Windows or OS X application but using the classes and libraries from the Acrobat SDK (in previous versions the code was very platform-centric, but now it's usually only the compilation stage which has to target a specific architecture). However, the current developer community is pretty much exclusively working on plugins for version X and 9, so if you're still targeting version 8 you may find the resources available online are only of indirect help.

Anyone is free to create, distribute and sell plugins for Acrobat, no license needed. Plugins for Adobe Reader can only be distributed with approval from Adobe (and a paid developer key), though there's a dummy key in the SDK to use for local testing.
