Hello,
I'd like to add "SCOGS report series" to the title in the document properties of 144 pdfs. Can this be done with a batch process? I have Acrobat 8 pro.

Thanks!!
Ellen

Yes. And you don't even need to use JavaScript to do it. Just make a new batch sequence and select Description from the list under the Document catagory in the sequence commands.

One more thing, Steve. I have to click "okay" for each file. Is there a way for it to add the metadata without having this dialog box appear?

Thanks,
Ellen

How is your batch set to run? If you set it up to Ask When Sequence is Run then you shouldn't have to click OK for each file.

You can also set it up to look at a folder and process what ever is put into the folder. I have a batch sequence that removes bogus bookmarks and it is assigned to process a folder called Splitting so when ever I split PDF files and put them in the folder I just run the batch and it processes all the files I put with out me having to choose them. Most of the time I set my batch sequences to ask me to choose the files I want to process.

Another thing I have done is turn off (uncheck) Show the Run Sequence Confirmation dialog in the Batch Processing Preferences (Preferences (Control-K) > Batch Processing). Just because I am so used to running batch sequences that I got tired of seeing it.

Turning off the interactive mode toggle in one of "edit sequence" screens will eliminate having to click "ok" every time the description details is added to a document.

Thanks for getting me on the right path, Steve.

I keep forgetting about that feature. Thanks for reminding me.
