Hi,

Is it possible to have a PDF file that is automatically password-protected when it is created, under Distiller, as an output file via an Adobe PDF Converter printer driver.

In other words, one single Distiller's security settings applies to all users using this PDF Converter driver on a local PC?

We use Adobe 7 with Distiller which are installed on a particular PC but is networked for file sharing. Please exclude Adobe Server as a solution for the simple reason that we cannot afford it.

Many thanks
Cheers

Acrobat Standard 7.0.0, Windows

The bad news here is that the usage you describe sounds like a violation of the End User License Agreement (EULA) for Acrobat, which prohibits use of the software in a server role.

If this is a managed environment, then you could control the user's installation and manage their default and available settings administratively.
