Assigning "Visible" Scripts to Drop-Downs

I have a form, created in Adobe Pro 8, that has a drop-down on page 2 which allows the user filling out the form to select a number (1-50). I'd like to put in some sort of script that will insert a subform (or unhide a subform) at the end of the form to correspond with the number selected. For instance, if they choose "4" from the drop-down, I want 2-instances of the subform to add on to the end, if they select "7," I want 3 instances of the subform. As an option, instead of the subform pages, could I have the number selection ("4," etc.) add-in instances of a table?

I'd really appreciate step-by-step instructions as I'm rather new to this.

Hi ilenearg,

Thom Parker has a nice series of articles on how to use Javascript to perform these functions within Acrobat. The tutorial titled, "Changing Another Field with Combo Box (Drop Down) Selection" is available at:

Hope this helps,
Lori
