Is there a plugin for Acrobat that creates a note using basic calculator functions? The goal is to attach the equivalent of an adding machine tape to a document.

Thanks,

Robert.

I am also interested in an adding machine tape. Does anyone have an idea how I can add this functionality to Adobe? I use Adobe 9.0 Standard.

It can probably be achieved using form fields and some scripting, but you will need to be more specific about what it is you want to achieve.

I am trying to have a calculator which I can use to create a "virtual" tape (showing all the mathematical calculations) which I can then copy and paste into my Adobe document. I am a CPA and would like to "markup" certain documents with these tapes.

This might be possible, but only with a custom-made script. You can contact me personally if you're interested in such a script.

I found a great solution for adding an adding machine tape to your PDF. The program is called NumberMate and it costs $10-15 per license depending on the number of users. It's a real bargain. You create a tape (and can include annotations), print to clipboard, and paste into a text box in your PDF document. The program is easy to use and has almost no learning curve. The key is "print to clipboard" to get the AMT into your document. Here is the URL to their site: http://calcunote.com/Download.php

There is a software product named PDF-XChange that lets you route the printed output from any program to a PDF file. You can find it at http://www.docu-track.com/buy-now
