Compare Documents…/Text Differences/Side-B-Side" format, …Cross-outs and Underlines problem

When I use "Compare Documents…" in the "Text Differences/Side-B-Side" format, the Cross-outs and Underlines are so thick that 8-10 pt. type is often impossible to read on printouts at actual size, and often is illegible when zooming into the on-screen document. Our clients are unable to read the text in the compared versions, as a result we are not able to use this valuable tool.

Is there anyway to change the line weight for the Cross-outs and Underlines?

I am working with current versions of Acrobat Professional, v7 and 8 on a Mac OS 10.4.11 and WinXP respectively. I would consider myself a novice to intermediate user with beginner level java experience.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

There isn't much you can do to control the comparison. It's really only for documents that have small differences. Ones that are hard to detect visually. If you've got so many that they cover the page then you should be using another tool. There are many comparison tools. Do a google search on "Compare PDF Files"
