Date field in an Acroform

When a form is created in Livecycle and a text box is created with a date format, it shows the pop-up calendar, however when an Acroform is opened using Professional, the date filed does not show a pop-up calendar. Can this be added via script, and if so would anyone know of where I can find reference material?

Unfortunatley, Adobe never created a calendar popup for AcroForms. However, there have been several attempts to remedy this situation. One such attempt can be found in the last example in this article, "DatesExample2_extra.pdf".
