destination extraction?

I was wondering if it is possible to extract destinations from a PDF file and reuse them in another PDF (kind of like importing them into the new PDF).

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

on a copy of the original delete all pages except one (may be a blank page -- a pdf file must have at least one page). the destination names will be preserved but without page targets (of course). lets rename this file (one page with lots of named destinations) mydests.pdf. insert mydests.pdf to your new file (insert after last, so you can readily find and delete the blank page). you'll then need to reassign a page target to each imported destination name in new file. this technique will also import the bookmarks from original.pdf to new.pdf -- useful when the bookmarks point to the imported named destinations.

While this would give me my destination names in my new document. The time consuming part I was hoping to get rid of was the assigning the destination it's location. I was hoping that there was a way to script destinations. For example all destinations zoomed in at 120% then A1 - x =0, y = 0. A2 - x = 30, y = 0. A3 - x = 60, y = 0. B1 - x = 0, y = 30. C1 - x = 0, y = 60. etc etc.

Is this even possible to do with scripting?

It's not possible to create a destination with a script.
