Hi,

Is it possible to set Document Properties - Initial View - Magnification to fitwidth when we open the pdf file?

we do not want to add/attach any script within the pdf file.

Any suggetions will be useful.

Thanks,
tuffy

Yes - whatever you choose on the Properties/Initial View tab will remain in force after you've saved the file.

With Acrobat Pro you can set the initial view options with batch processing, or during the distillation process via an epilogue.ps script - but there's no access to them via the JS API.

on any page (or multiple pages) you can place a menu item action. this will get you started: right click a page thumbnail; select 'page properties'; select actions tab. in select action dropdown select 'execute a menu item'; click add; find 'view>zoom>fit width'; click OK. lots of menu items, lots of variations. for instance, the 'go to next page' button by default will apply inherit zoom to the 'next' page, unless the default is overridden by a page view action placed on the 'next' page.

You can also use Quick PDF Tools by Debenu to quickly modify a PDF properties through Window's Explorer context menu.
