Hi,

We have a web based application that allows users to see a reciept in a pdf format. This receipts come from a third party, but all have the exact same password to open them, we are trying to eliminate a step for the user by systematically entering the password for them.
Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks
Brad

Unfortunately, NO. Password protected files generally require User assistance to open. The only way to create seamless, silent opening of a password protected file is with an Acrobat Plug-in.

But there is another way. If the file was protected with a digital certificate instead of a password, then the user could silently open the file if they had that certificate on there system and it was registered with Acrobat.
