How to programatically get current/selected fieldname

I've searched everywhere I could think of and can't find how to programatically get the actual fieldname of the current or selected text box. Can anyone help?

With Acrobat one uses the "targetName" property of the "event" object or one can use the "target" and "name" properties of the 'event" object.
