New to Adobe and currently have Acrobat 3D. Very good with excel but struggling with Adobe. What I'm trying to do is create a form when you input data in one field, the remaining fields will pull in the correlating data from a access database. Used VLookUp command in excel to complete this task, how do I do this in Adobe? Any advice would be appreciated.

You can use Adobe JavaScript. It can connect to Access databases and query. Unless you have LiveCycle server though, you will be unable to use this functionality in Reader. Also, do a google search or search here for enabling ADBC in Acrobat. You'll need to do that before you start.

Must of our users only have Adobe Reader and we do not have LiveCycle server so I guess my project is dead, seeing that our IT does not want to get involved. I had used the V lookup in excel which works great. Too bad the Enable User Rights feature does not include the ability to access databases. Maybe version 10......

No kidding! There are options for you. There are companies out there that would take your form and enable it for you for a price. Probably less than the 30k price tag (or whatever it is) for LC server.

Another option would be creating a plug-in for Reader, but if IT doesn't want to get involved then you'd have to out source it.

Good Luck
