I have two editable fields and a few unedited, which calculated and displayed values from the data entered into the editable fields.
So if I simply embed the values in Acrobat, then everything is fine, but when in the field inserts a third-party program, the processor forms does not expect the rest of the field.
Why is that? How do I fix it?

Many 3rd party PDF readers do not support JavaScript or the organization that provides the user's system has turned off JavaScript for PDFs. About you you could do would be to provide a alternative PDF with all fields editable and no calculations.

Yes there is some danger of allowing JavaScript within a PDF but it is very small and some organizations do not want to take any chances. I think there is a bigger threat form multi-media having rouge actions.
