mail merge

Is there a way for Acrobat 8 to implement mail merge or do I need to use my page layout program? I use InDesign CS2 for this particular project. I know InDesign will do this (not that I have figured it out yet,) but would like to include the mail merge step at the end use.

There are lots and lots of ways to do this. The way that's right for you has a lot more to do with what you know coming into the project, your familiarity with databases, the nature of your implementation, and so on.

In general, PDF is not a great application for purely mail-merge functions. For variable-printing functions (a highly-related but nonetheless different application), PDF is a natural, but mail-merge for letters... Acrobat certainly isn't made for it.

So, while it can be done via FDF, SOAP, javascript and a variety of related methods... good old Mail Merge is MS Word may still be the way to go.

I have a 2 page pdf document and a file with 100,000 records to perform a mail merge creating another pdf as output. How can I do this?
