We have an Adobe form on the web called a Child Support Calculator, which performs some calculation and which the public can access. It has Java script and was originally written for Adobe 6.0 but continued to work in 7.0 as well. Here is the issue, when a user fills in information, there are some fields that may require help, so if the user clicks on the category (hyperlink) it brings up a help page with an explanation and/or definition, however when the user hits the back button all of the data on the form is erased. This never happened prior to 8.0. Can the form be modified to retain session information?
I found that Adobe reader 8.0 can be modified in preferences under the forms option to KEEP FORMS DATA TEMPORARILY AVAIL ON DISK, however since the public also accesses this site I have no control over their settings.
Also, when a user opens the form in 8.0, the first message they get is that they cannot save form info. Would converting the form into adobe 8 resolve either or both of these issues?
Thanks a lot,
Nat
Take a look at this example.
