Non printing, fields initially filled with field names?

I am using Acrobat Professional 8 to create my form. My apologies is this is an easy thing but I can't seem to find any information on this topic. My client would like all the form fields to initially be populated with the Field Names. The field names are already descriptively named (client provided names). Their thinking is that the field names will be an initial visual clue on what needs to go in the field. (I already have tooltips filled in). Of course the field name would be replaced by user entered content and if the field does not get any user entered contnet in it the field name would remain but would not print. Is this even possible? I have figured out a way to make it work by adding in Initial field values and using if/else statements but I am hoping that maybe (just maybe) there is a document wide process to achieve this. Thanks in advance.

I've never heard of anyone doing something like this, and I've seen a lot of forms. So it's not surprising that you wouldn't find any specific info on it.

However, it sounds like you got it figured out. You've done exactly what I would have suggested.
