I know there's a way to have the scan menu pop up when opening Acrobat. Is there a way to have the OCR window display automatically when opening a PDF? We have hundreds of faxes that come in daily as PDF that need to be OCR'd. So it would make the job easier if we could have the OCR window pop up when the person opens the PDF. Any way to do this or another way to automate the process? Thanks. Acrobat 8.1 , windows XP2.

Activate the Read Out Loud Feature in Acrobat and it should launch the Scanned Page Alert dialog upon encountering image only PDFs.

View > Read Out Loud > Activate Read Out Loud (Ctrl + Shift + Y)You may have to open a "dummy" PDF file to enable the Activate feature (it's greyed out if there is no open document. Once on, it stays on until you turn it off, or exit Acrobat.

Selecting OK will begin the OCR process with the Recognize Text dialog.
