Opening and saving file using script

I have several PDF files (about 3,000) that are stored on a web site that I need to open and then save these documents locally. I can calculate what the URL needs to be based off of a list in MS Excel. I would like to be able to also use this list to do a save as on the filename.
If I can get a simple example of some vb or java code I am sure that I can create the code file needed from excel, have excel write the code out and then execute each.

Thanks for the help

If the files in question are not PDF, you should post this question with a Microsoft User forum. If they are PDF please re-post ths question and an Acrobat Javascript code will be provided to solve the problem.
