Adobe Acrobat 8. How do I insert Roman numerals for a page range and then change to Alphanumeric for the remainder of the document under header/footer?
Open the Pages Panel, right click on the thumbnail for the first page and choose Number Pages. In the Page Numbering dialog box that opens you can choose the radio button "From" to specify a range of pages to number with several different formats, including Roman Numerals. Once you have the Roman numeral part complete, select the thumbnail in the Pages Panel corresponding to the first page you want alphanumeric numbering for, and choose the range and format in the dialog as in the first step.
