pdf page numbering

Need to batch alter the page numbers in a group of pdf files. Referring to the page numbers that are shown in the thumbnails pane and the page navigator. Page numbers need to follow on from the page numbers of preceding file. Cannot find a solution.

Also considered merging all into one file, (which creates a bookmark for each) then renumbering all, and then splitting. However, try as I may, I cannot find a split utility that permits retention of the orginal document's page numbering scheme.

Any thoughts or suggestions greatly appreciated.

Hi --

You can set up a batch process for page numbering that can be applied to a series of files, but have to do the number selections manually during each file's processing in order to have the correct sequences.

As for merging and then splitting again, the files are automatically renumbered when you create a separate file, and again you have to renumber manually.
