PDF -PDF Communication problems in IE8

We are using Acrobat 9.3.x
We use globals and the doc object to communicate between PDF forms when opened in separate IE windows.
For example, one PDF form may get some information from the server and passes that information to another open PDF form using its doc object.
In another example we store information from one PDF form in a global, and when the another form opens the user can paste that information . (used like a PDF clipboard).
All this works great in IE6, but we when we upgraded to IE8 it would either work sporadically or would not work at all.
The problem is that our users' IE8 has the TabProcGrowth registry set to 3 , which allows for multiple instances of IE to run , and since Acrobat 9 runs within IE, the different PDF forms can't see each other anymore.
Has anybody got a solution to this problem? Is there some setting that can let the instances communicate?

Would "not running under the browser" be an option? This normally takes care of global variables.
