Is there a way, a plugin or javascript available that would allow the PDF author to split a PDF page into multiple pages? (i.e. split a 11"x17" landscape page into 2- 8.5"x11" pages; split an oversize page into 2, 3 or 4- 8.5"x11" pages.) Can this be created via Javascript?

You could do this with JavaScript, with the limitation that it would only be a VISUAL crop and not a "true crop".

For a "true crop", you'd need a custom plugin or 3rd party solution.
