When I convert Powerpoint 2003 to PDF via Powerpoint's "Convert to PDF", some of the hyperlinks are accurate, but most are off - typically by the same amount. I have searched on-line for an answer - I've seen others with identical problems, but no one has posted an answer as far as I can tell. Any ideas? I am using Adobe 6.0 Professional and Adobe 8.0 Reader.

The reality is that the PDF Maker in PowerPoint leaves a lot to be desired with preserving hyperlinks and anaimations. It's continually been a problem with earlier versions of Acrobat and continues to this day with Acrobat 8 in not offering us all the richness of a .ppt file when converted to PDF.

Rather than beat your head against a wall, I would recommend using PowerPoint for the things like creating an outline, slides, using master templates and all the design features the program offers. Convert to PDF and add all the interactivity you want in the file in Acrobat.

Thanks, Ted, for your quick response. You saved both my head and the wall!

I've noticed a ton of 3rd party conversion programs being offered (from Powerpoint to PDF). Do you know of any that would preserve the hyperlinks? I am using the powerpoints as assembly instructions but need to convert to PDF to attach to SAP. If I make all the links in Adobe, then every time I revise the assembly instruction (in Powerpoint) I would have to re-link after I convert - a tedious and error-prone task. I'm hoping someone has software that works well at converting hyperlinks. Any suggestions?
