I need to merge a number of PDF documents that were created in Microsoft Word. I need to be able to number the pages sequentially (which I know how to do within Acrobat), but I need the page numbers to appear on the pages when printed. How do I do this?

Hi --

Before you merge documents into a single file in Acrobat, make sure the source files aren't numbered. You can remove the content later, but it takes more time than removing them in your Word docs.

Once the files are merged in Acrobat, choose Document > Header & Footer > Add to open the dialog box. Choose the locations, font, and format for the page numbers, as well as any other header or footer text you want to apply.Check the preview before you finish to be sure the text is displayed correctly on the page. Click OK to close the dialog box and apply the page numbers.
