first Post! :)

Hi, I need to find out what my technology map will look like when I see that my boss wants me to write a server app (w2k3 std en) that will take parameters from a web front end and create a pdf out of it.

What do I need to look into? Should I write in native c++ or in C# for stability? Is there code samples somewhere?

HElp! ;)

Thank you, kindly,

To generate PDFs on the Sever side you will need a PDF Creation tool or Library. The cheapest option, and also the most work for you is to write Java App with the free iText Library (http://www.lowagie.com/). Other options that are easier because they handle the low level PDF details, but cost money are tools from www.appligent.com, www.apago.com, and www.activepdf.com. Some of these are command line programs and some are ActiveX modules that can be scripted with C#.

Hi Thom,

Thank you for your answer. :)

I was looking at pdf-tools.com prep suite. This any good? I wanted to know if iText is stable... do you know anything about this?

Best regards,
