Scripting a new shortcut key

Hello!
brandnew in this forum and in search for a solution to a problem - or better if the envisioned solution is possible. I read many resources on Acrobat scripting but have not found the answer yet.

Here is the problem that needs a solution:

- From a web site I print a confirmation to a subscription into a pdf file
- I open this pdf in Acrobat 8 Pro to add some info manually
- this info consists of some text typed with the typewriter tool and two custom stamps
- I wish for a shortcut key that inserts the template of these three pieces so I only have to modify a bit by hand.

Now - is this at all possible?
- can I script the insertion of a custom stamp and attach it to a menu item and/or shortcut key
- can I script typing text with the typewirter tool and also start this with a shortcut key?

Thank you so much in advance for any help you could give me here.

You can add a menu item, but not a keyboard shortcut.

Hi MerlinSilk,

You could add a custom dynamic stamp that includes the ability to enter custom text in the stamp before it is placed ( to be clear- the custom text would be entered prior to placing the stamp, after the stamp is placed no text could be altered). Here's a link to an article here on custom dynamic stamps with a link to an example-

You can also create custom toolbar buttons for the Acrobat UI to eliminate walking the menu to get at frequently used stamps. Custom toolbar buttons are discussed in the forums many times, just do a search on those words, and you can also find more about them and a tool to help create them at-

There are also tutorials here on creating Custom Menu Items in Acrobat, here's a couple-

Hope this helps,
