set scale measuretool with metadata?

using the measuretool one has to provide a scale: 1mm=100mm, for instance, that would be 1:100.
would it be possible to script this, reading in a user-metadata, and setting the scale?
it would make the use of CAD-pdf's a lot handier....

although pushing towards senior age, still want to keep up the pace

I think I've got a lead...."8.8 Measurement Properties" of "PDF Reference, version 1.7"... Now for the hard part: creating a dictionary..It''s not done with JScript, so it doesn't belong in this particular forum.
