Stamps and Watermarks

Hi, we are looking into using bulk stamping of our web-based PDF files to discourage copying of the material. We would like to stamp the users name and date on the file. What options are available for doing this? Do we need to purchase a plug in or can this be done under the exising Acrobat Professional 8 software.

Thanks in advance!

Are these stamps applied to the PDFs before they are placed on the web site, or do you want the stamp applied when the file is downloaded?

If you are looking to apply the stamp, containing unique information, at download time you will need a 3rd party tool, like StampPDF from www.appligent.com, but there are plenty of others, google on "PDF Stamps". The Acrobat license does not allow it to be used in a server environment.

If you are going to stamp the files before they are placed on the server then there are things you can do with Batch Process and/or JavaScript to make your life easier.

this is an add on.. we need to create a watermark or stamp on documents that have been created in most frequently from AUtocad, word, & excel; these are then emailed around the world. the problem being the user has to be able to print & save to their computer but NOT change the watermark/stamp that was placed on the document. the only solution we have found thus far is to put it on a hard copy and then scan that.. currently running window XP, acrobat reader v. 8; professional V 5 & 6. it would be great if it was easy and not take a programming degree..any advice?
