Text color stuck on yellow

I have on focus/on blur scripts on many fields to change the field fill and text color on focus (dkGray fill, yellow text) and return to normal on blur(ltGray fill, black text). I have 3 fields that seem to be stuck on ltGray fill, yellow text on blur, and no matter what I do I can't make the yellow text return to black, regardless of whether I do it in the appearance panel or with the script.
 
Any insight into this anomaly would be appreciated. Thank you.

Maybe another script is setting their color by accident?
Try looking under Document JavaScripts... and see if their name appears in any other code.

After confirming the On Blur action was indeed resetting the text color to black - which I could see in the appearance panel - but the text color persisted in displaying as yellow in the affected fields, I discovered the problem was that "allow rich text formatting" was enabled in those fields and as soon as I deselected that, problem solved. Thank you for your thought. That certainly was a possibility.
