Hi,

there is a sample http://support.adobe.com/devsup/devsup.nsf/docs/54352.htm for use the JavaScript "hostContainer". That works fine with IE7 and Firefox 3.6.3

By useing the sample in IE8 there show the message "NO hostContainer object, doc not embedded".

Wath can I do now? Where is the "hostContainer" in IE8? ore must I look for an PlugInn?

Thanks
Ralf

have you seen this example?
http://www.windjack.com/WindJack/Browser2PDF/brwsr2acroJS.htm

It sounds like the PDF is not being opened in the browser plug-in. Have you checked the Acrobat Preferences to make sure the PDF is not being opened by the stand alone product?

Another problem with the host container is that all the objects involved have to be initialized in the correct order. And because of the indeterminant nature of the internet there are frequent timing problems.

My test of the sample sow me following:
The right side oft this sample works fine by IE8 and Firefox, but on the left side I get with IE8 an error ("MessageGeneralError: Vorgang fehlgeschlagen.") by send and postMassage.

Now its my job, to look for my project, where are th differents etc.

Thanks again for your post.
