508 compliance project - quick turn-around needed

I have a 25-page document created in InDesign 5.5. I got most of it converted into a 508 compliant PDF, but ran into a snag with "No alternate text for Figure" errors. The project is running late and the client is impatient. Find the errors or start over with the document - whichever is faster.

Thanks!

Thanks for your quick response. I understand how to add and remove tags. I just can't find the objects that it wants me to add tags to. Usually, if a tag is missing, it will give a page number and/or you click on the specific error and it will take you to the problem - but not this time.

Bart,
Something to try.
.
Go into the Content pane. Walk it down looking for containers having <Figure> shown beside the 'Container' entry. Have Highlight Selection in play to help identify the content on the PDF page. When you come to one of these open the Properties dialog and select the Tag tab. Is there text in the Alternate Text field?
.
Often decorative graphics (drop shadows, borders, what not have not been rolled up into a group back in the authoring file resulting in a phlethora of objects becoming <Figure&glt; rather than a page artifact.
.
Another causal factor can be use of an authoring appllication that lacks Tag management, has poor Tag management, has good Tag management(but the app does not lend itself to straight forward content mastering with accessible PDF output in mind), or has good Tag management not properly used.
.
Sometimes it is like building a little log cabin with toothpicks and wood glue. Get the glue on the finger tips and things do get "sticky" <g>.
.

Be well...
