Renaming PDF's by bate stamp range

One of the new features in Acrobat 9 which is really exciting is the renmaing of PDF's using the bate stamping range. However, I am unable to get this feature to work properly. I have tested this out on numerous PDF's, scanned version and converted versions but no luck. Whenever I apply the bate stamp numbering and change the output to "rename using bate stamp range" it does not change the document names, just applies the bate's numbering. If you could let me know what I'm doing wrong, I would appreciate it.

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro Extended 9.1.1, Windows

Hi scocco,

I have not used that feature myself, but below is a link to a page with a Bates Numbering video showing how to do it. In that video the files do get renamed with the stamp numbers- maybe you can give it a watch and see if you have missed one of the necessary steps ( its only a few minutes long).

Hope this helps,

I've watched the video and I am following every step. Still the names are not being changed....if you have any other suggestions, let me know.

Thanks!

Hi scocco,

No, I don't know why it isn't working for you- sorry. It could be a bug, but I could not find anything on it. Hopefully someone else who uses this feature will jump in......

I have not used the inbuilt Acrobat feature for accomplishing this, but such a rename (of either individual files or MULTIPLE files and directories) can easily be accomplished using Directory Opus (an excellent Windows Explorer replacement). [FILE > FileCommands > Rename]
