Hello Acrobat Group!
This may be a really simple question, but I have tried to locate the answer online and have been unsuccessful! So hopefully someone can answer this question. I have a long manual created in Word 2007 that has several page references to other sections in the manual. I want to add the phrase "click here" to icons in the manual and have that phrase appear when users hover their mouse over the icon. The icons already jump to a particular sections in the manual because I set that up in Word 2007 using the hyperlink feature.
Now I just want to add that tooltip phrase so users will know they can click the icon to get to that page reference. I tried creating an invisible button over the icon, but that took away the ability to click the icon. I know I can make the buttons excute an action to jump to the page, but that would mean I would have to recreate all the hyperlinks that I already made in Word! Therefore resulting in double work for me! Is it possible just to add a tool tip in Acrobat 8?
Thank you,
Thelisha
Try adding alternate text for the icon(s) in the Word file(s).
Check the PDF conversion configuration. Select the accessibility option.
Idea is to have a tagged output PDF with the icons ("Figures") provided with alternate text. When mouse hovers over icon the alt text shows which would be your "tooltip".
Be well...
