I run Acrobat 8 Pro on a new iMac intel core duo with MacOSX 10.5. Since re-installing and updating Acro Pro 8 on this machine I can no longer print from other applications to the pdf printer created by Acrobat.
This is most important when creating pdfs from MS Word docs because it is quicker than saving as a ps file then activating distiller separately.
I can use the in-built Save to PDF in the print dialog but that gives me less control over the quality of the output. I can also import the documents into Indesign but that is not helpful. I have CS2 installed.
Acrobat 8.1 does not have full support for Mac OSX10.5. You'll need the update to Acrobat (8.1.2) for full support, which is currently due out in late January 2008. For more information regarding Acrobat and CS3 support for Leopard, check out the following URL:

Hope this helps,
Lori
