Acrobat 8 re-scales on export even with resampling turned off

For a long time, I have created PDFs for presentations of layout for on line viewing or for email attachments, by creating 72 dpi RGB images in Photoshop, with variations of my layout saved as layer comps. I then, use the pre-loaded script in Photoshop(CS2 and3). "Layer comps to PDF". I then open the resulting PDF, and change PDF settings in Acrobat as desired for presentation, such as to make the document open at 100 on in single page mode, centered on screen, printing prohibited, etc. I have never had a problem with this in previous versions of Acrobat. I now find that the CS3 PDF document comes out as expected, but when it is opened and re-saved in Acrobat 8 , the scale of the images changes. 100 percent view in Acrobat enlarges the images. Since the images are 72dpi, this means they are displayed blurry at 100 percent view in Acrobat. When when the photoshop-created pdfs are viewed at 100 percent, side by side with the Acrobat 8 created document, the images are not the same size on-screen. I have checked all required settings Acrobat in 8 carefully, compression is turned off, and resampling is turned off, and have tried both saving and exporting from Acrobat 8, but the problem is consistent. I have never encountered this issue until using Acrobat 8. I tested by making my Photoshop documents as 8.5 x 11 at 72dpi, with the images centered, but the issue is persistent no matter what size the originals are. Any thoughts about is this happening?

Not sure what's going on. I've heard of some problems with PDF creation from Photoshop from a few users who experienced a problem with page sizes being altered when exporting from Photoshop. Personally, I haven't been able to duplicate your problem.

Just to be certain, are you using Acrobat 8.1.1? If not, upgrade to the latest version of Acrobat and try the same steps to see if the problem persists. If it does, please report back here and we'll see if we can investigate this further.

Thanks for your replies. I'm using Acrobat 8.1.1, and Photoshop CS3 version 10.0.1. I will go through entire process again, but FYI the resize issue happens even when I made individual jpegs, (Layers to files) and then batched (combined) them as a document using Acrobat, only. Even with individual jpegs that were 72dpi, 8.5 x 11 (portrait).

What Resolution do you have selected under the following Preference?
Edit --> Preferences --> Page Display panelIs this different than whay you had in an earlier version of Acrobat?

Thanks for your response, and question. Acrobat Preferences are set to view at 100 percent. But this does not matter. 100 percent is absolute, not relative in this case. Regardless, during viewing at 100 percent per toolbar in Acrobat on-screen display is much bigger than the same document in Photoshop, at 100 percent which is always 72dpi, universally. In my case I'm making the image at 72dpi, so this eliminates any confusion over consistency about the meaning of 100 percent in this instance. ( I'm, a creative pro who does web design) Since I make my pages for presentation as 8.5 x 11 images at 72dpi, view preferences in Acrobat should in no way effect the outcome. 100 percent view of a bitmap document, if it's 72 dpi, should be same size on screen in Photoshop, as it is at 100 percent in Acrobat. It's not. Not only that, it displays larger in Acrobat and blurry. Bug? Please view a screen shot of what I relate, at link below. Examine the info at top of image in Photoshop (100%). Examine info in Acrobat toolbar. (Because this image is 72 dpi, 100 percent view in Photoshop view at 100 percent is same as, "print size".) You are seeing one layer of a multi-layered Photoshop document. This has always been my technique for creating PDF presentations (exporting layer comps as PDF). But, even when these 8.5 x 11 72dpi layers are exported as 72dpi jpegs, and imported into Acrobat via Acrobat, Acrobat still displays them improperly. Why?
