Hi,

Any help would be appreciated. I am trying to scan a document and save it as a PDF/A version and also as an optimized version. I am getting a message that says the PDF/A version is read only and I can't seem to change the security settings to save it as an optimized version. If I try to scan it as a regular PDF, it won't let me save it as a PDF/A version.

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 10.1, Windows

Best to create the PDF/A version and the optimized version from the same source file. Basically, do it in parallel, not in series.

Thanks for your help, Joel. This makes sense now that I look at it. I can scan the document both as optimized and a PDF/A version simultaneously. For some reason, I had it in my mind that an optimized version could not serve as a PDF/A version because there would be too much lost in the compression. Guess that's not the case.
