My favorite technique of cropping articles from web pages works great:
1) Create PDF from Webpage
2) crop-out the sides
3) File/Print/PDF Format - no compression
4) size-to-fit setting on

It does a beautiful job with one exception:
hyperlinks are removed.

Why would that be ?
Is this a bug ?

Acrobat Pro Extended 9.3.1, Windows

This is not a bug, this is an expected behaviour : creating a PDF using Print+Distiller cause all hyperlinks, bookmarks, form fields, comments, etc. to be lost/removed.

Thanks Merlin. Is there any work-around to that ? I hate cropped PDF's because they :
1) still carry around baggage
2) they can be uncropped at any time
