Annoying font problem

I have helvetica fonts installed and use them in Frame files. When I try to make a pdf file using adobe pdf printer, the fonts change in FrameMaker and Helvetica fonts are substituted with Times. So not only do the Helvetica fonts change for the resulting pdf but also in the original Frame file. The problem persist with Acrobat Pro 6, 7 and 8; FrameMaker version is 7.0. This smells like some sort of config issue, but even our itc-help dpt was unable to solve the problem. Please, please help me!

First thing I would do is check my fonts and be certain that the Helvetica fonts are Adobe PostScript fonts or a good quality TrueType font with no licensing restrictions on embedding. Fonts may be the source of the problem.

Also, make sure you use a PostScript printer driver of the Adobe PDF printer driver when creating the PDF. You might also try printing to PostScript and let Distiller create the PDF to check and see if the fonts get properly embedded and are not substituted.
