Cannot launch scanner from Ceate tab

I am using Acrobat Pro V9 on a Vista Ultimate PC. My scanner has been assigned in Adobe as the default scanner but when I use the Create button when in a new or existing page, Adobe fails to launch the scanning applet.

However if I go to File - Create PDF it works.

What is the problem?

What type of scanner are you using?

Did you set any type of Configuration Presets? This is under the Document --> Scan to PDF-->Configure Presets menu?
