Can't rearrange pages in Acrobat

For whatever reason, the ability to rearrange pages (i.e. re-order pages by drag and dropping the thumbnail page images) just stopped working. I can't re-order bookmarks either.

This is driving me crazy. It is specific to one computer. If I send the same .pdf to another computer with Acrobat, the .pdf can be rearranged just fine.

Anyone have any ideas?

My Product Information:
Acrobat Standard 9.0, Windows

Have you tried re-installing Acrobat on that machine? Do you know if Acrobat is a different version on the problem machine (has an update that the others don't)?

I tried reinstalling. Working computers have the same version of Acrobat. Seems like a big mystery to me??

have you tried reseting the panels to see if that works? if not, then try that.

go to the side bar were you view the individual pages and right click it. at the bottom of the window that pops up will be a button that says "Reset Panels"

click that and see if it solves your problem.

this solves the problem i have sometimes when the pages panel disappears from the side bar.

hope it helps, red

It's possible that these PDF files are PDF/A compliant -- you can check this by opening the Standards Navigation panel. If so, then you'll need to turn off the following preference before you can rearrange pages: Edit > Preferences > Documents Categories and select "Never" from the View documents in PDF/A mode.

Thank you all for the suggestions. After about a week of experiencing this problem, I came into work today and the user reported that it started working properly again.

Yesterday, I tried resetting the panels but that didn't work.

I believe that I had restarted the computer after reinstalling the application and it also didn't work.

I suppose it is possible that I didn't restart after the reinstallation and that this morning after a fresh start that the problem was solved?

This may also be related to a bug that was introduced in Acrobat 9.4.5 as detailed in the following post.
