changing format

I am creating documents in microsoft publisher that are booklet form, 4 pages on one sheet of 11x17 paper double sided printing. What I want to do is reformat it to be 4 single 8.5x11 sheets continuous for my PDF conversion. I have converted the publisher document into a copy of this format, then tried to make the pdf. It turned back into the 11X17 landscape format. I called Adobe, and they had me go to print, change the printer to the pdf one and in properties change the page size and from landscape to portrait. This still did not work. It looked like the document was floating on the clipboard, with a long narrow white area behind it that would usually be the image of the paper size. Any suggestions?
thank you!

Hi --

Here's a simpler way that only needs a setting change in Publisher.

1. Open your booklet file in Publisher and then choose File > Print Preview.2. In the Print Preview window, Click Change Page Order to open the dialog, and choose Print one page per sheet in the Options.

3. Click OK to close the dialog, close the Print Preview.

4. Print to the Adobe PDF printer. Settings you changed manually in your earlier attempts are modified automatically.

Check the file in Acrobat. You will see the booklet has been converted to a 4-page document. Isn't that cool? And isn't finding that one setting frustrating? ;)

Another question about page size.

I start with a pub file. Change that to 5.5 x 8.5. When I print the PDF, the original ends up in the middle of an 8.5 x 11 page and then I need to crop that in the PDF file. anyway to have it keep the same size when it comes into the pdf? Thanks.
