I'm using Acrobat Adobe 6.0 Standard. I'm trying to convert a DOC(2003) into a PDF. I go to DOC file and hit convert to PDF. Only thing that happens is the document opens in word...no conversion. Any advice?

Acrobat Standard 6.0.0, Windows

Your Acrobat PDF Maker may have gotten corrupt. I would try reinstalling Acrobat. I would also suggest you upgrade to the current version of Acrobat 8.

If you can't upgrade, then I would try using the File > Print > Adobe PDF Printer (or something like that as I don't remember what it was called in Acrobat 6). This should give you a PDF file based on your settings selected in Acrobat Preferences (Convert to PDF).Hope this helps.

I'm having a similar problem with Acrobat 6, Word 2003, and OS Windows XP 2002 SP2.
The PDF Maker menu doesn't show up in the toolbar in Word. It was there in some of the Word docs, but has disappeared since I created the pdfs. I can't even find Acrobat listed now in the shortcut icons in the View/Toolbars. The hyperlinks in the Word doc will only work when created using PDF Maker (not with PDF Printer or by right-clicking on the Word file and selecting Convert to PDF.

Any ideas how to get the menu or icons back? (I don't want to upgrade to Acrobat 8 at this point as I've read about some hyperlink problems with it and Word 2003).

Thank you,
Sherry
