Hi - I would like to convert a 1+Meg .TIFF map file into PDF and want to compress it. Can PDF do this? And if so, how. I was told by my web person, it couldn't be done. I don't know what verson of Acrobat he has.

My Product Information:

one way among many: open the tiff in photoshop (ps elements is okay), make adjustments as needed (resolution, size, etc.) and save as pdf. then, with acrobat apply reduce file size.

Hi mbolger723,

Just a comment re: TIFF > PDF.
All releases of Acrobat have been able to / do import/convert TIFF to PDF.
Of course that is "Acrobat" vice Adobe Reader.

Good to know - configuration of the TIFF > PDF process.
In Acrobat, open the Preferences dialog.
Select Category "Convert to PDF".
Scroll down the list of support formats, located and select TIFF.
Click the Edit button.
In the dialog, use the drop-down menus to select the desired configuration settings.
These settings a "sticky" so you do it once & your done (until you need a different configuration for some job ).Be well..

Be well...
