Converting Word file to PDF changes margins in headers and footers

Try setting Adobe PDF printer as the default printer before opening Word. Word changes the document layout depending on printer properties.

Sorry, you'll have to bear with me - I am not an Adobe expert by any means.

I talked to our AA who creates this document. The way she goes about it, she opens up the Word document first. In Word, there is an adobe icon on her top toolbar that says "convert to Adobe PDF." This is all she does to create the PDF version of the document. I've opened up the document and set the printer to Adobe, but that just produces another PDF with the same screwed up margins. Given how she creates the PDF (which is the only way she knows how...and therefore, me too), what would you suggest to try next?

Can you post a sample Word document and the PDF you get? Also, what's the version of Word you are using?

--| signed in to your account on acrobat.com
--| go to "My Files"
--| select the "View as thumbnails" file view - this makes it easier to get to the down caret in the lower right.
--| for the file that you want to provide a link to - -
--| click the down caret symbol
--| this opens a menu
--| select "Copy Link"
--| the link is now on the clipboard (Windows OS)
--| paste this into the body of a post to AUC
--| link will be in the submitted post

I haven't measured with a ruler but when I see the Word file in Word 2007 and the PDF, they appear very similar. What version of Word are you using and what kind of difference are you seeing - something very small or does the content visibly move?

I had to print the two documents out in order to see the difference, so it isn't that noticeable. With me, the header at the top that says "Motor Liscense Fund Tax Expenditures" and the page numbers at the bottom are different in the two documents. I'm using Word 2002.

Recently i came across a requirement to convert a wide range of file formats (.doc, docx, .xls, .rtf , .odt, .ods, .ppt etc.) to pdf file in PHP.
