I have a Word master document (MS Word 2003) that I'm trying to convert to a PDF using Acrobat Professional 6.0. I've created a "master" table of contents for the 8 files linked in the master document. But each time I attempt to generate a PDF (Selecting the "Convert to Adobe PDF" on the menu bar) the process hangs both Word and Acrobat and I have to shut them down.
Is there something I'm doing wrong, or is there a work around for this?
Thanks!!
That has happened to me as well, particularly with a large file or group of files as you are using.
First thing to try -- Choose Adobe PDF -> Change Conversion Settings to open the PDFMaker settings. Deselect the option to View Adobe PDF Result. Now try to generate the PDF.Be sure to limit the other processing your computer is doing at the time you are creating the PDF file.
If that fails, you can generate the component files individually and reassemble them in Acrobat. Sadly, your table of contents' links are going to disappear or be invalid.
