You need to the 'Convert to PDF' icon or menu option once you have set the conversion settings as needed to enable the 'add bookmarks', 'Add Links to the PDF', and what Word document structures you want converted to bookmarks.

Hi

Thanks for the reply. which menu option and conversion settings you are referring. I am converting the word document to pdf by printing it using 'adobe pdf' printer. I checked with Adobe distiller (version 7) settings but didn't find these options anywhere.

My word (version 2007) files are normal documents with headers (1 and 2) defined for TOC purpose and TOC is inserted on first page.

TOCs are created when you use Acrobat's add-in to Microsoft Word to create PDFs. That's what gkaiseril is referring to.

Acrobat 7 is not compatible with Office 2007 (it was released several years before Office 2007). To get this functionality, you need to upgrade to Acrobat 8.1 or later.

I have a word 2000 document with hyperlinks (to files). How can I convert it in pdf 1.4 (with Adobe 9 pro) and keep my hyperlinks?
Thanks for your help
